STATE HOUSE – Rep. Aaron Regunberg (D-Dist. 4, Providence) has been appointed to the House Health, Education and Welfare Committee and the chamber’s Environment and Natural Resources Committee, House Speaker Nicholas A. Mattiello announced yesterday.
The Health, Education and Welfare Committee deliberates matters relating to the health care system, public education, human services and children and families.
The House Committee on Environment and Natural Resources hears all matters pertaining to environmental issues, such as conservation, pollution, renewable energy and the green economy.
Representative Regunberg, the founder of the Providence Student Union, a nationally recognized youth nonprofit that supports young people in civic engagement, was sworn into his first term in the General Assembly Tuesday.
