Event to call for urgent attention, repairs to deteriorating R.I. schools

STATE HOUSE – Rep. Aaron Regunberg will join members of the Providence Student Union, parents, teachers, administrators and community members at a State House news conference tomorrow to bring attention to the deterioration of school buildings across the state and to call for funding for repairs.

The news conference is scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, April 29, at 3:30 p.m. in the House Lounge on the second floor of the State House. This event will have strong visuals, including signs, costumes and photos of some of the schools most in need of repair, as well as personal testimonies.
Representative Regunberg is the sponsor of a bill (2015-H 5434) that would create a $70 million trust to continually generate funding for school repairs.
